What is Seavus Easy Update?
|
|
Seavus Easy Update is a MS® Project add-in that enables team members to update their tasks using Seavus Project Viewer as the updating tool. Seavus Easy Update together with Seavus Project Viewer and MS® Project can help you to establish a light Enterprise Project Management (EPM) environment, improve communication and collaboration between team members and project managers.

Who can use SEU?
|

Seavus Easy Update is used both by team members and project managers.
|
|
|

Team members can use Seavus Easy Update to send updates and notes through Seavus Project Viewer to project managers about progress on tasks they are assigned to.
|

|
Project managers can Seavus Easy Update to receive task updates related with the appropriate project plan. Managers can now make sure they have the most-up-to date information available about any given project status. They may decide to accept or reject any particular task update. A project manager may use either MS® Outlook or the Seavus Easy Update toolbar, located within the MS® Project main menu.

How does SEU work?
|
|
There are two ways you can use Seavus Easy Update:

A team member can use the add-in, as a functionality within Seavus Project Viewer; and
|
|
|
• |
|
A project manager can use the add-in directly from MS® Project or MS® Outlook
|
|
|
|
|
For Seavus Project Viewer user:
|
All Seavus Project Viewer users are now able to send task updates to project managers related with their tasks’ progress.
A project manager can place the Microsoft® Project (.mpp) file on a shared location accessible by both team members and project managers. If you are a team member, you should open the .mpp file placed on that location using Seavus Project Viewer.
When you open the .mpp file and you are in any of the Gantt Views, double click on a task name in the left view pane. A window opens up with a Task Update tab on your right which provides the necessary functionality.

For Microsoft® Project user:
|
As a project manager, you now are able to efficiently manage and process team member’s updates through either MS® Project or MS® Outlook. You are now able to directly accept or reject received task updates without opening the appropriate project plan in MS® Project.
If you use MS® Outlook, go to the appropriate email containing a task update. When you use the specific new buttons in the email, you can decide whether to accept, reject or preview how this update would look in your project plan.
If you use MS® Project, you can click on the SEU toolbar within the application and process the updates from the SEU screen which will appear.

How is SEU integrated with MS® Project, MS® Outlook and Seavus Project Viewer?
|
|
Seavus Easy Update is application which provides seamless integration with Seavus Project Viewer from one side and MS® Project and MS® Outlook from another.

Team members as Seavus Project Viewer (SPV) users you can now create updates by using the task update functionality, new to SPV. You send the task updates to project managers through your MS® Outlook.
|
|
|

Project managers receive task updates as email notifications. When you double click on the appropriate email, you are able to use the SEU toolbar or ribbon to manage appropriate updates. You could open updates also by clicking the SEU toolbar in MS® Project. When you accepts or rejects a task update, your team member receives notification about the decision.

Can I update Microsoft® project plans sent/received over the Internet or on email?
|
You can use Seavus Easy Update as a collaboration tool between team members and project managers. When a .mpp file (file crated in MS Project) is placed on a Local Area Network (LAN) location accessible to both team members and project managers.
All sent and received updates are also stored in their MS® Outlook folders as well.
Please note you cannot update .mpp files sent or received over email, or downloaded from the Internet.

Is installation required to use SEU?
|
|
Yes, installation is required. Seavus Easy Update add-in is distributed in a modern setup, built as a MSI (Microsoft® Installer) package. It provides a familiar setup wizard interface which guides you through the installation steps.

How can I uninstall the application?
|
|
To uninstall Seavus Easy Update from your computer, you should do the following:

Select Control Panel from Settings under the Windows Start menu.
|
|
|

|
When the Control Panel opens, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
|
|
|
• |
|
From the Add/Remove Programs dialog, select Seavus Easy Update.
|
|

Click Remove.
|
|
|
• |
|
Follow the directions in the wizard to uninstall the product.
|
|
|
|
|
How can I start the application?
|
|
You can startSeavus Easy Update either from MS® Outlook or MS® Project toolbar/ribbon.
